<div>How does one capture love?</div><div><br /></div><div>Cape Town based photographer Robin Jones captures the warmth and intimacy between Elli and Edwin’s love in this beautiful collection of photos.</div><div><br /></div><div>Elli and Edwin met in Barcelona by chance whilst both on vacation. It was love at first sight for these two, as they became a couple the day they met.</div><div><br /></div><div>“I never understood the saying… ‘when you know, you know’, until that day.” Elli says as she fondly recalls the memory.</div><div><br /></div><div>“For this shoot, I can remember the day pretty well because we were freshly in love, and we couldn’t take our hands off one another. Having a long-distance relationship is not always fun, but when we saw each other after that long break, we were just so happy to be in each other’s arms again.”</div><div><br /></div><div>As these two kindred spirits relish in one another’s presence, another question is posed to them: What do you love about each other?</div><div><br /></div><div>“What I love about Edwin - he is honest, grown, loyal, loving, caring, protective, sensitive, and patient with me. <div>Iconic fashion designer and Creative Director of Balmain, Olivier Rousteing sat down with Vogue to recount a life changing journey to South Africa, to film a fashion film and documentary debuting the visionary collection with Disney for The Lion King.</div><div><br /></div><div>Olivier speaks candidly about the journey of self-discovery, tracing his roots back to Africa and what it meant to him to connect with the continent of his birth heritage.</div><div><br /></div><div>In an emotional interview, he shares a moment with our very own Carmen Hickman that resonated deeply with him and which he will carry with him forever.</div><div><br /></div><div>Carmen is not only a model, she is a mother and inherently maternal figure; and so it was a natural improvisation in a tender moment with Olivier that led her to share words that shaped his experience whilst filming.</div><div><br /></div><div>Herewith a few exerts from the interview with Vogue.</div><div><br /></div><div>&quot;The Disney x Balmain: The Lion King collection has been immortalised in a short film by Nigerian director Femi Oladigbolu. Shot across the Western Cape region of South Africa, Rousteing takes on the leading role. The film stars a selection of models wearing his designs that were cast from all over Africa; countries including Kenya, Namibia, Rwanda and Tanzania. As Rousteing puts it, this furthers the cultural impact of the collaboration, “giving local people the chance to shine”. The film itself focuses on the concept of destiny - and in a similar vein to the narrative of The Lion King - Rousteing experienced a personal full-circle moment while filming.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>Actor Carmen Hickman, when playing the wise older Black woman who’s supposed to reveal his future, decided to improvise on set. “She said to me: ‘Don’t forget this is your continent, this is where you come from, and you are loved here. <p>Introducing Future Face, Jack Mcleod.</p><p><br /></p><p>Behind those brooding eyes and floppy curls, is a talented young man with a keen interest in graphic design, music and the pursuit of something more meaningful than a big Tik Tok following.</p><p>Get to know a bit more about him in our Q&amp;A.</p><p><br /></p><p>Q: How did you get scouted by ICE Models?</p><p><br /></p><p>A: I submitted photos&nbsp;via&nbsp;the website along with my sister in 2020. We then received emails from ICE showing&nbsp;interest. I visited ICE Models Cape Town in 2021&nbsp;for the first time to discuss possibly working with them one day, but while I completed my schooling in the Eastern&nbsp;Cape I had to be patient.&nbsp;I moved to Cape Town in early 2023 and&nbsp;signed with ICE. Q - How did you get into Modeling and what were you doing before?

A - I have been modelling for three years, and before that I was a pharmacist. I finished my pharmacy college in the middle of this year. I’ve always loved fashion and everything about modelling, but I never felt like I was enough to the industry so I never tried before, and then one day I realized that I was throwing away my dream without even trying. That is when the things started to happen! I went to an agency in Brazil and started to work weekly with huge brands that I could never imagine that I would be their face one day. So, believing in my dreams and working hard brought me here to Cape Town!



Q - What do you like to do in your free time?

A - I love running and workouts in general, I’m always doing some kind of sport like boxing or Muay Thai, but the part of me that likes to mix training and art loves pole dancing.



Q - What is your most memorable trip and why?

A - When I was in London with my best friend 6 years ago, I was just an adolescent without my parents in another country trying to learn English. It was so exciting! It made me feel that I could go anywhere I wanted to!



Q - Do you have any bucket list adventures you would like to do one day?

A - Yes! and some of them are here in cape town like paragliding, going up Table mountain and do some boat trips around the city.



Q - Who is your favourite musician?

A - I don’t have any specific one but I really love some songs of Lana del Rey as she talks about getting over all the challenges of life.



Q - What is your favourite movie and why?

A - I have two, Pretty woman and Burlesque. Pretty woman make dream about impossible love and Burlesque shows the story of one girl who worked hard and risked everything for her dream, just like I did.



Q - What is your favourite food?

A - Italian food in general, but I really love salad bowls too.



Q - If you could master a skill, what would it be?

A - I guess I really would like to have the skill of flying, to feel the freedom of it.



Q - What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received and who was it from?

A - From my mom. She told me that I can never in my life live in fear of my dreams.

<div>Lee has been under the curated development of our Future Faces board whilst completing his schooling, so we have watched him grow up in front of our eyes.&nbsp; It has been incredible to see him grow from boyhood to a young man with the world at his feet, etching out his journey.</div><div><br /></div><div>With parents who both hail from industry and own established businesses (Flash Photo and Location Gallery), Lee has ingrained in him an impressive business ethic and deep love for the fashion and commercial industries.&nbsp; Lee knows that nothing worth having doesn&#39;t come without hard work, sacrifices and dedication.</div><div><br /></div><div>As very proud agents, it has been exhilarating to facilitate Lee&#39;s coming-of-age first trip to Milan as a travelling, full-time model.</div><div>Travelling to one of the world&#39;s fashion capitals may sound glamorous, but there are always highs and lows that come with the adventure; so we asked Lee to share his experience with young and aspiring models by imparting 6 of his best tips for finding ones feet in Milan and travelling abroad in general.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>1. Find a group of close friends asap!</div><div><br /></div><div>They&#39;ll motivate you to explore different parts of the city, you&#39;ll find places you&#39;ve never seen before through them and they know the best, most affordable spots regarding going out or eating out.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>2. Be careful about what you spend your money on.</div><div><br /></div><div>Yes, do your shopping. But, once that&#39;s out of the way make sure you budget and don&#39;t spend all your money on unnecessary things like fancy dinners, expensive and exclusive events, etc. Our South African Rands disappear quicker than you may think. Looking at your bank account weekly will certainly frighten you!</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>3. Have a routine.</div><div><br /></div><div>Have a purpose to get up on the quieter days and make sure you are productive and active every day.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>4. Don&#39;t wait for shoots to come.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div>Find photographers or friends who know about certain castings or shoots that you can also join in on. Don&#39;t be scared to reach out to local or international photographers by starting with good conversation and ending it with a test shoot. If you are truly passionate about your work, then you will find good photographers who will love your test shoot ideas and will want to shoot them with you too.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>5. Do all the touristy things!</div><div><br /></div><div>The city&#39;s have so much to offer and some of the scenery, locations and events are just spectacular. You never know when you&#39;ll be back in the same city so make sure you get to see al the beauty of it before you leave.&nbsp;</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>6. 2. Be careful about what you spend your money on.

Yes, do your shopping. But, once that's out of the way make sure you budget and don't spend all your money on unnecessary things like fancy dinners, expensive and exclusive events, etc. Our South African Rands disappear quicker than you may think.
