ICE Models Future Face, Jonny Essien is beautifully captured by international photographer Charl Marais. 

‘Born and raised in the deserts of the Karoo, South Africa, it was here Marais was brought up on a family farm. Despite its removed isolation, from a young age Marais was inquisitive about exploring art.

It was at the age of 7 when he heard the ‘click’ of a cameras shutter and crack of the lights, he realised he wanted to be a photographer. He later moved to London to study photography, where upon graduating, he began his photographic career.

It is Marais relaxed attitude that is at the core to his approach to work, and what he draws upon in his creation of the set’s environment. This staple attitude has allowed him to create environments he believes produces the best results that permeate on through to the photographs. '
